couple of questions on practical IIR filter implementation on fixed point systems [3 articles]

ok1iak - 2012-03-10 15:39:00
Hello. I am a professional programmer, but I am doing DSP just as a hobby. Three years ago I designed a morse / PSK31 decoder on a 16bit no- multiplier controller. After rouhgly 3 years of absenc...couple of questions on practical IIR filter implementation on fixed point systems

using IIR or FIR to implement the lowpass filter for downsampling? [13 articles]

Nasser M. Abbasi - 2012-03-09 13:29:00
For downsampling (decimation) one normally uses low pass filter before downsampling (anti-aliasing filter). I have thought that FIR is the best choice here for the low pass filter implementatio...using IIR or FIR to implement the lowpass filter for downsampling?

basic bpsk bandwidth question [10 articles]

recoder - 2012-03-08 23:19:00
Dear All, Assume that we have 1kbps data, if we BPSK modulate it on a 2 khz carrier with 2 period per bit, we have a 1 khz wide signal centered at 2 khz so the 3 dB bandwidth of the signal is 1 k...basic bpsk bandwidth question

Hilbert transform and down sampling [7 articles]

Thomas - 2012-03-08 08:43:00
Hi all, I am a newbie in DSP and need your help on understanding Hilbert transform... I have a real, double sided signal coming in. I want to use Hilbert transform to get rid of the negative s...Hilbert transform and down sampling

Texts on generic DSP architecture designs? [24 articles]

WaveRider - 2012-03-08 02:39:00
Hi everyone, I'm an undergrad and I'd like to tackle the task of designing a DSP. I'm wondering if anyone can help point me in the right direction in terms of common considerations for DSP ISAs, co...Texts on generic DSP architecture designs?

Looking for a good (cook)book on audio signal processing [6 articles]

Mauritz Jameson - 2012-03-07 09:34:00
I am looking for some (cook)books on advanced audio signal processing, audio effect algorithms, speech processing algorithms etc. Preferably something that is up-to-date. I am thinking about buyi...Looking for a good (cook)book on audio signal processing

So what am I to do with this education? [17 articles]

Benjamin S. - 2012-03-06 11:05:00
I did some control theory, signal processing, communications. Now I'm doing my masters in statistical signal processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, information theory, audio processing...So what am I to do with this education?

Convolution of a signal with the time reversed version of itself [4 articles]

aru_3D - 2012-03-04 13:12:00
Hi, I am somewhat new to the world of DSP and my math skill need a lot of push-forward. So the question may be fairly basic and the answer is probably quite simple but I am having a hard time to fi...Convolution of a signal with the time reversed version of itself
