is my EZ-KIT SDRAM busted? - Robert K Yu - Aug 1 7:14:00 2003

hi folks,

I am playing around with the Bf533 EZ-KIT for
the first time, and I'm trying to access the SDRAM.
If I read the docs correctly, I ought to be able to
point my debugger directly at 0x0000 and access
the block of SDRAM. However, I can't modify
any of the values there. Is my SDRAM fried??

Another question: where in the debugger do I see the
EBIU registers (for the SDRAM interface)??

More symptoms:
1. I take the EZ-KIT out of the plasticwrap and
hook it up to my USB port. I install the VisualDSP software.
I build & run the LED flash demo. it works.
I build & run VisualDSP\Blackfin\EZ-Kits\ADSP-BF533\Examples\MemDMA. it
works.

2. I build & run VisualDSP\Blackfin\EZ-Kits\ADSP-BF533\Examples\MemDMA
(which populates SDRAM). it hangs VisualDSP, and I have to power cycle
the board.

3. Under debugger Settings->Target Options, the "auto configure SDRAM"
box *is* checked.

thanks
-Rob
