HP-PCI emulator - Iqbal M - Oct 22 14:18:00 2003

Hi,

We are using HPPCI for our custom made board in which we are using ADSP2191M.

We are not able to connect to the target hardware regularly using the emulator.
It has random occurence of connecting to the hardware.

Now if i try to contect to target when processor is in reset condition, the
emulator connects but obviously cannot function properly as the processor held
reset.. this is understandable.

If we try to connect to target after the processor has come out of reset(ie
after we press manual reset) the emulator gives a error mentioning not able to
connect with error message 80004005.

We then checked the EMU_ line on the JTAG. With no emulator connected to board
tthis line is floating. When emulator is physically connected to the hardware
the voltae on emulator line is 1.5V.

Please do help out...

THankx
Iqbal

Don't know about that chip, but the 21065L has a relatively fragile JTAG
interface that's easy to hang. It's necessary to boot successfully from a
boot source that brings the CPU up "sane" so that the JTAG interface will
be functional. (For my targets this is from a known good boot EPROM.)
