Hi I earlier had a ADSP21065L board with a summit ICE JTAG emulator pod. Now,I have changed my application on Blackfin 533(BF533).My question is whether I could use the same emulator pod for the BF533 eval board.I tried but had no success. In JTAG CONFIGURATOR I looked in the "device properties" and "type" but could find ADSP21535 only and other SHARC types.Does it mean that I cannot use the emulator pod for application on BF533.Is there any work around so that it works even for this.Or do i need to purchase an another emulator pod. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks Regards Reddy __________________________________ |

ADI should confirm, but I believe you just need the additional license for VisualDSP for Blackfin. That should include support for the whole Blackfin line. The BF535 was the first released, and has since been renamed from ADSP21535. The latest VDSP/Blackfin should provide updates for the newer versions like the BF533. |

It sounds like you have an older version of the VisualDSP++ tools. VisualDSP++ 3.1 (available for download on ADI's web site) is the latest that I know of and it supports the ADSP-BF533 under that name. The Summit-ICE does work with the ADSP-BF533 EZ-KIT board (I've done just this), but Ken Porter's right, you will need a full VisualDSP++ license (for the Blackfin) to do so. The EZ-KIT itself (without a full Blackfin license) only supports connecting to the board with the on-board USB "debug agent" and not an ICE. RUSS |
