can ASM21 be used for ADSP2191? - madhavi b - Apr 16 11:20:00 2004

Hi,
Can I use ASM21/LD21 assembler/linker to write codes
for ADSP2191 on LINUX using dosemu which I have used
for ADSP2181 programs.
If not is there any other assembler available for
linux ?or I have to use VisualDsp++ only?
Thanks in advance
Regards,

Hello

I've to upgrade my VDSP for SHARC to release 3.5.

Does anybody work on this release?

Could you give your feedback?

Avantages and disavantages?

Do I have to install patches?

thanks in adavance

Stephane

They will not work with the 219x family. You need VDSP. You can download a
90 day full function eval, buy an EZ-Kit for the 2191, or buy the full
featured version.

I don't think there are any Linux versions. There was a third party company
DeSOC that had a 2191 version in the works.

We had absolutely no problems with the install. One very nice thing is that
it doesn't interfere with other VDSP installations. There are only two VDSP
3.5 installations as well.

VDSP for 16 bit (21xx & Blackfin)
VDSP for 32 bit (SHARC & TigerSharc)

You still need a license for each DSP family (Use your existing license file) Al Clark

There is a toolset, Open21xx which is free, for Linux
and supports all the 21xx family, including 218x and
219x.

I don't recall the exact URL, but a search on Google
might help.
