video in/out on the BF533 EZKIT - gpolder - Apr 14 10:50:00 2005

is there anybody working on an video input/output project on the BF533
EZKIT?

The demo's which came with VisualDSP works just fine, but I need an
integrated framework with video in and out, in between I like to add
some image processing routines.

I know that this is imposible to do at full frame rate with the BF533
EZKIT, but half the framerate, or less will do for my application.

thanks,
Gerrit

We have done A/V synchronised play-back of 3gpp encoded files (with 2Mbps
MP4 video and MP4-AAC audio) - on this kit @ 30 fps for full D1 size.
Considering that your processing would be less than an MP4-Encode decode -
cycle - I feel you shd be able to do 15fps comfortably.

I believe the issue would be multiplexing the PPI/DMA control between input and output modes at a reasonable rate. There are some algorithms on www.dsprelated.com or the adsp user group on yahoo that show how to capture a frame and then display it out the video port. Perhaps you could study that code to see how to modify it to stream video.

Just a thought.

Have you looked at the BF561 EZ-Kit as it has a dual PPI port that would make what you are trying to do alot easier?
