PCB layout - dirk...@gmail.com - Oct 30 11:25:20 2007

Looking at the documentation it ADI recommend a separate analog power and ground plane.
Can I get away with just a 4 layer board and still maintain a good SNR ie close to the SNR spec
of the chips?

Dirk

Hi,

I have designed 4-layer PCB for ADSP21262 and 24-bit audio codec without
separated analog and digital ground LAYERS, and the SNR is as in
converter datasheet. So, you can use 4-layer PCB instead of 6-layer but
you have to carefully separate analog and digital ground planes on one
layer.

Take care,
Maciej Kulesza
