UART on ADSP21363 - Stéphane_GOUEL_-_ARBOS - Jan 29 20:31:53 2008

Hello

I need to implement UART on ADSP21363. I find EE note on Analog web site for
previous Sharc, solution is based on SPORT.

Does anyone have experience on 2136x.

I also find MAX3100 chip (UART on SPI), Does anyone have experience with
this chip ?

Thanks in advance

I have used the method in the ap note with a 21262. It works OK but it
would be easier with a 21369 since you have a UART.

You need to be careful with the 21363/4 with respect to DMA, Read the
errata.

It=92s for 21363, solution seems more easy with MAX3100, what you mean abou=
t
DMA ?

=20

Is solution with SPORT is easy to implement ?=20

Look at IC anomaly #3 in the 21363 list.

I don't remember any real difficulties. We did it several years ago.
The 21369 is close to the same price as the 21363. We make several 21262
boards and then skipped the 21363/4 and migrated to 21369 for new
designs. We use 21371 for lower cost targets.

Ok, but i'm working on VDSP++ 5.0 IC anomaly is obsolete so, VDSP compile
"avoid it"

RE: SPI using DAI on ADSP21363 - Stéphane_GOUEL_-_ARBOS - Feb 27 3:22:54 2008

Hello

I need to implement an SPI using DAI pins because SPI dedicated pins are
used to boot. Is there anybody has a small piece of code which demonstrate
how to configure and use it because my following piece of code doesn’t
works.

Routing using SRU macro’s : (CLK, MISO and MOSI)

Flag0 used as chip select and configure directly by SPIFLGB register

Do you have an idea on what is wrong, or a small piece of code for example.

Thanks in advance.
