Can someone enumerate the steps involved in setting up a UART DMA on a
Blackfin BF534 processor?

Nithin,

Check out Chapter 5 of the BF537 Hardware Ref manual.  DMA is described in
detail including programming examples at the end of the chapter.  The UART
is mapped to a pair of DMA channels (one for input and one for output).  The
mapping can be changed, if you wish.
