firat of all if u are trying to run both simulation and kit, u may not run simulation as it prompt for some validation code.

 you can simulate SPORT0 in ADSP2.0 for 21xx. Goto settings ->streams... and then set the  source and destination parameters.
The example given by C:\Program Files\Analog Devices\VisualDSP\218x\Examples\example2 is a good example for simulating SPORT1. U can apply it to SPORT0(i have not tried it but it will work).

And with a 21xx EzKit Lite attached to the serial port of my PC?

     Plz look at the example2 in your examples folder it simulates Serila port TX and RX0.
