hi all,
   i am working on advance audio coding project.

   can anybody tell me what is 48.1 channels concept?
   is it 48 different programs or 48 different channels,
   channels respective to each speaker?

   if they are 48 speakers than what are they??
   i mean left,right,centre...... what exactly are they??

   i guess u've got it.
  
   i also want to know what is the aac mpeg2 bitsream format after encoding?
  can anybody explain me with the help of example....
   i mean how exactly it is written.

The AAC bitstream supports _up_ to 48 channel streams, indeed.
What you do with these channels is not the problem of the
bitstream. The advantage is that you can be sure to be open to
new surround standards as well. And you can encode/transmit
only one channel, too.

I recommend to consult the MPEG-2 standard (ISO/IEC13818) and
perhaps the MPEG-4 standard (ISO/IEC14496).
