Technical discussions related to Audio Signal Processing (digital effects, acoustics, noise reduction, musical signal processing, etc).
I've read some document about jitter. But there is a problem, how does it effect the performance of audio dac ? In my application , I need to generate mclks for audio dac , But I could not know whether the clock is clean enough, Is there any menthod can evaluate it ? Thanks !______________________________
Hi, =A0 yes you can find out jitter in indirect way. =A0 it could be serious problem if you are capturing the audio in realtime = and wantd renderer it. you could end up having buffer overrun or underrun. But if you trying to renderer from the stored media then you are concern is= =A0clock generation.=A0 you can find out from source clock tolerance i.e cr= ytal or clock generator it is mention in PPM. other way is to play pure 1khz sine wave(-dBFs) and mearue using the audio = precision and find out deviation in frequency and new hamonics.=A0Uou need = consider perfomance of DAC from data sheet before making any conlcusion. hope this helps With regards Amaresh From: q...@yahoo.com.cn <q...@yahoo.com.cn> Subject: [audiodsp] AUDIO jitter To: a...@yahoogroups.com Date: Friday, June 12, 2009, 1:01 PM I've read some document about jitter. But there is a problem, how does it ef= fect the performance of audio dac ?
