Audio vector in [-1,1] format to bit stream - Nicolas Paterno - Jun 17 9:58:00 2005

Hi, my name is Nicolas. I'm currently working on an project for college which involves modulation of a .wav file using OQPSK an the corresponding demodulation. I don't know how to use Matlab so I need some help with the audio file. I just used the command "wavread" to get the file into a vector.  Now I've got this vector taking values in the range [-1,1]. What should I do to convert that vector to a stream of bits suitable for the modulation process?. It's an exercise so I can't use the signal processing toolbox in simulink (I have to do all the math involved in the modulator and demodulator). Well, if anyone feels the desire to help me even more telling my some tips to get the whole mod/demod to work I will be very glad!.

Thanks and regards,
Nicolas.
