Simple beamforming algorithm - Alex Polite - Dec 1 7:48:24 2006

Hi there.

When I make interviews for radio/podcasts I put a headset microphone
and a hard drive recorder on the interviewee. I'm thinking that it's
quite a waste to only use only one of the two recording channels
available to me.

I'd like to experiment with beamforming. My plan sofar is to build a
headset microphone with two microphone capsules, an inch or so apart.
I'm researching different plastics, microphone wires and capsules for
this part of the project. The other part of the project is to code
some simple beamforming algorithm. I understand that the simple
sum-and-delay strategy doesn't work wonders. What would be the next
step up in complexity? I'm looking for something that doesn't require
a PhD in math to comprehend.

Hi
I am also investigating beamforming. I need a simple delay and sum beamforming algorithm. I
need to simulate it using MATLAB/Simulink. If you have done any simulations and can help me
with some Matlab codes for it, i'd be greatful
Thank you

Vishaal
