hex2asm.exe - miww...@aol.com - Mar 28 9:24:00 2005
hi there,
is there anyone who can help me out with a copy of hex2asm.exe.
It looks, like TI had stopped ftp-support for c3x-files.
Thanks in advance,
Michael

Hi Michael
The FTP site is ancient, but I am none the less surprised that the
files are not there anymore. At any rate, the NEW stuff (since '95)
can be downloaded as the C31/VC33 DSK
code package. In it you will find source
code for a lot of stuff beyond applications. For example, it includes
both the DOS command line tools (debugger assembler and tools) and the
HLL-C debugger for Windows, DSK3DW. The TI-C Compiler and Assembler
tools are also included. The only downside is muddling through which
applications are for the older C31 DSK and which are for the newer
TMS320VC33 DSK. Basically the C31/VC33 are functionally identical and
both DSK's use the same interface so the tools are the same. What is
different is the upgrade to a stereo 48 kHz codec, two on board
microphones, external SRAM, external FeRAM (Flash), more MIPS (for a
lot less power), and lots more internal RAM.

If you are trying to convert a binary image to an ASM file... it should
be pretty easy with a DSK. If I remember correctly (Im not using the
DSK the moment), the DSK debuggers had the option of saving memory to
an ASM file. If not, like I said, you have all the sources, and this
would easily allow someone to create a binary to ASM utility. Getting
fancy, it would even be possible to find branches, calls, vectors and
even data addresses and then convert them into meaningful labels.
Hope this helps
