Hi, I am torn in between buying the 5402 or the 5416 DSK. The 5402 has an extra UART port, where as the 5416 talks over the USB. How stable are the windows drivers for these platforms and is there a time limit to the tools provided? Larry Vancouver, BC Canada |

Larry, I have both DSKs, and I would definately go with the 5416. I actually beta tested the 5416, and found the USB interface to be much more reliable than the parallel port interface of the 5402 DSK. If you really need the UART port, I would find a way to build your own UART daughter board for the 5416. You could use the TI TLC16C550CFN IC, which is the chip that is used on the 5402 DSK. Hope this helps.
