State Pins On Reset C5510 - guglielmi600 - May 3 7:37:11 2007

Hi Folks!

I am searching in all Texas documentation but I am not finding this
information:
When the DSP C5510 is in reset(during reset) I would like to know the
state pins...

Could someone inform me something about this?

Thanks in advance.

Can you clarify what you mean by "state pins"? Do you mean some specific pins (if
so
which ones?), or do you mean the "state of" chip signals?

If the latter, then:

-I think many pins are floating (tri-state) when
the chip is held in reset, but not sure

-you can easily check this by looking at the 5510
data sheet, which has a detailed table describing
each pin, including function, direction (I/O/Z),
   and status during Reset

You're kidding me, right? In the C5510 data sheet:

  http://focus.ti.com/lit/ds/sprs076n/sprs076n.pdf

in section 5.9 Reset Timings (pg 65), there is clearly information about state of all
pins when the device is held in Reset.

I think you need to spend some time with that data sheet -- take it with you
everywhere, sleep with it. You need to know that data sheet backwards and forwards
-- every detail -- for your project to succeed.

TI Tech support needs to read their own data sheet. As far as I know with TI DSPs
(back to 1984), TI data sheets always say which lines are high, low, and floating
during Reset. It's not a big deal.

Alexandre,

Thank you for your inquiry to TI.  The Service Request# 1-525202737 has been assigned to your issue.  Please use this number in reference with any other inquiries you may have in regards to this issue.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything documented or any information we can provide you on this.  The reason for this is the DSP is in an unknown state while it is in reset.  Therefore each pin is in an unknown state.

The only known state of the DSP is once it is brought out of reset.  I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Please let me know if this information resolves your issue or if you need further assistance.

I will be looking forward to hearing back from you.

Did you see? So...
Technical Support is for this. Is for to confuse us...:-)

But, whatever I thank you.
