Technical discussions about the TI C55x DSPs (including the c5501, c5502, c5503, c5507, c5509, c5510 and OMAP5910).
I have a component which functions on a one line communication standard that I wish to interface with the 5509A DSK evaluation board from spectrum digital. The component I wish to interface uses parasitic power so all I need to supply it is a data line and ground. However the board does not have any standard simple communication methods available as the GPI/O ports are all used. What is available is a daughter card slot which feeds through the on board CPLD. Now the daughter card interface contains some input/output (FSX) pins. Would it be possible to utilize these connections to communicated with this device? If so what might be some steps needed to set up these pins for such communication? The board also contains GPI/O tied to a set of LED's, it would be possible for me to solder these connections to provide a communication point but I would rather avoid this. Thanks for any suggestions!
