oops, I forgot to copy c6x group. mikedunn ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Michael Dunn <m...@gmail.com> Date: Jan 24, 2008 8:25 AM Subject: Re: [c6x] EVM620_PCI _Driver To: g...@tataelxsi.co.in Gayathri, On Jan 24, 2008 2:59 AM, <g...@tataelxsi.co.in> wrote: > Hi PPl, > > I have a problem in installation of the driver for the EVM board 6201 (In > PCI mode of Configuration). > > operating system used: Windows Xp > > Im not able to run the confidence test either since the required files > (evm6xtst.exe)are not found. > > I could not locate the driver for EVM6201 in CCS version 3.3. > I tried it with CCS version 1.2 , 2.0 also but even the > C:\ti\c6000\evm6x\bin directory. is not created. > I understand that the EVM6201 is obselete now but I would like to know If > EVM6201 is supported in only specific versions of CCS if so kindly share the > Software tool(CCS) along with the version number. > > I feel that Im not having a proper version of CCS software. > Ur Comments are anticipated. It has been quite a while since I worked with the 6201 evm. This is what I remember: CC 4 [before CCS] and CCS 1.x shipped a separate CD with the evm board that contained the software. CCS 2.2x contained evm software in the c6000 version. I don't know about 2.0 & 2.1. I would suggest CCS 2.21, if you can get it. I do not think that the kernel drivers in pre-CCS 2.2 versions will work on XP systems. On some XP systems the 'plug and play' installation of the kernel driver might not go smoothly and might take a couple of tries and reboots. Once you get it installed, it should work okay. NOTE: The driver installation process reads 2 files from the CD. I suggest that you copy the files on to your PC in case you need them down the road [and you don't have your CD handy]. I don't remember the exact file names. but they are something like *evm*.inf and *evm*.sys. The root name is the same for each and contains either '6x' or '6000'. Good luck on your quest. mikedunn > > Rgds, > Gayathri. > -- www.dsprelated.com/blogs-1/nf/Mike_Dunn.php -- www.dsprelated.com/blogs-1/nf/Mike_Dunn.php Check Out Industry's First Single-Chip, Multi-Format, Real-Time HD Video Transcoding Solution for Commercial & Consumer End Equipment: www.ti.com/dm6467
