Hello, everybody, Just like to say that this is a very good support group for users of the tms320c6x, I see that some of you have had experience with the tms320c6201 evm board, wonder if any of you could help me with a problem i'm currently facing? The problem is like so: After installing the evm board on my school's compaq pc, I tried to confirm proper operation using the evm6xtst software included in the evm package, but i kept getting "could not open handle" error. I have tried disabling any devices using the same interrupt, moving the board to other pci slots, uninstalling and reinstalling the driver software, but to no avail. The software I'm using are windows98 OS, TMS320C6x EVM Support Software Release 1.3, Code composer v4.01, and the computer is Compaq DESKPRO EVO D500DT. Thanks for taking the time to read my queries, Best Regards, LJ |

It seems a driver problem. Maybe there's a better driver than the one you are trying. I once had similar problems and it took a while, but it finally was due to hardware conflicts and the driver. Review the DIP switch settings on the board, too. Also be very careful with static electricity which can easily damage the board. fm. >From: "ljon2001" <> >To: >Subject: [c6x] C6201 evm board error >Date: Mon, 02 Sep 2002 04:43:06 -0000 > >Hello, everybody, > > Just like to say that this is a very good support group for users >of the tms320c6x, I see that some of you have had experience with the >tms320c6201 evm board, wonder if any of you could help me with a >problem i'm currently facing? > >The problem is like so: > > After installing the evm board on my school's compaq pc, I tried >to confirm proper operation using the evm6xtst software included in >the evm package, but i kept getting "could not open handle" error. DSPers, According to Federico Miranda, I would like to add that : 1. I used to face that problem, and it can be solve in different ways such as 1.1 change IRQ 1.2 change PCI slot of EVM 1.3 change all card that attached to PCI, but you need to have all of their driver 1.4 install on other computer 2. Higher version CCS such as 2.0, does not have that problem, so you should upgrade your software, which is possible if you register your CCS on time. Peace, TR. > It seems a driver problem.
