EVM card installation problem on higher end PC - fredsoh72 - Oct 15 13:04:00 2002

Dear all,

I had a problem with installing the TMS320C6201 EVM card which need
help.

I have some TMS320C6201 EVM card which I have install in some low end
PC which is working fine.
Recently, we bought some new PC having 2.4 GHZ P4 Titan 533
Motherboard with Win2000 (Service Pack 3)install.
I try to install the C6201 EVM card (PCI interface) using the driver
(evm6x.sys) from CCS 2.0, but the PC that we recently bought shows an
error message at the device manager. The message says that "Window
can't load the driver with an error code 31". Clicking on the the
driver details on the device manager shows that the driver did exist
on the path C:\WINNT\System32\DRIVERS\evm6x.sys.

I thought it might be some IRQ conflicts, so I remove all the PCI card
on board except the EVM card and rebbot, but still the same problem. I
try to fix the IRQ for the PCI slot and also try installing on all the
other PCI slots on the mother board but still the same problem. I even
remove the AGP Video card and replace it with a PCI Video Card from
another PC which I have the EVM working before. But it still show the
same error message.

As I had the same EVM card running on a lower end PC (400 MHz) using
Win2000 (SP 2) with the same CCS 2.0 driver. I am sure that the EVM
card is not faulty. So, I have no idea now what I should try, please
give me some guidance. Thanks.

Rgds
