Problem with TMS320C6711 DSK codec read/write test - ligoban - Jun 22 8:03:04 2006

External codec tone generation test is ok, memory test is also ok. But
when i try to use microphone to test codec read/write - there is no
voice heard. Microphone is ok. I tried to test codec using the codec
setting:
1) micrphone preamp gain = 20 dB,
2) voice ADC input PGA gain = 0 dB.
Tests are implemented in the "post.c"-Power-On Self-Test code
programmed into the TMS320C6211/6711 DSK Flash ROM by TI.

Suggest to isolate input and debug that first. For example, in DSP code, if you
look
at codec input buffer, do you see any change in values with sound applied to
microphone? You can use CCS graph to display input buffer values.

Ligoban,

Have you tried to use your PC's souncard output as input to your DSK.
With some microphones I had the same problem , but the output of PC or
a MP3 player can be heard.
