C67 EVM to DAC to ADC to C67 EVM through McBSP - Julian Gomez - Apr 20 1:07:00 2000

If any of you have any recommendations on where I could find previous
work done in connecting a C6701 EVM to a DAC through McBSP, please
let me know as I could use all the help I could get and there doesn't
seem to be a lot on the TI site.
Any other hints/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Julian Gomez.

Re: C67 EVM to DAC to ADC to C67 EVM through McBSP - Brian Carlson - Apr 20 1:46:00 2000

Julian,

Both McBSPs are available on the expansion peripheral connector.
There isn't anything special you have to do on your daughtercard
to interface to a DAC. You can interface with either 3.3 or 5V level
devices and level conversion is provided on the EVM. There should
be several application notes on TIs web site connecting codecs and ADC/DAC
devices via the McBSP. It is a glueless interface to serial devices, so you
shouldn't have to do much to get it done.

Here is a link to an app note I wrote for TI that may be of some help:

http://dspvillage.ti.com/docs/psheets/abstract/apps/spra477.htm

There are several other McBSP app notes at:

http://dspvillage.ti.com/docs/apps/dsp/tms320c6000app.html

Good luck,
