Hi, I'm looking for TMS320C6701 EVM PCI Borad's driver for Windows XP. I have already tried the following files, but they do not work and I encounter this error: "Windows cannot initialize the device driver for this hardware. (Code 37)". 1. The evm6x.sys file shipped with CCS Ver. 2.0 Full Version 2. The evm6x.sys file within CCS Ver. 2.1 Free Eval Tools I do not have CCS Ver 2.1's full version. Could anyone provide the proper evm6x.sys file that work in Windows XP. Thanks in advance. |

I've just been onto TI Asia technical support regarding these drivers and support for Windows 2000. While CCS 2 documentation suggests support for Windows 2000 it would seem the drivers for the EVM6x do not. Likewise for XP. >Dear sir, > >It seems the device driver for the EVM just does not support Win >2000/ME/XP. One of our engineers here had tried everything he could to >make it work, but still fail. I have run CCS2.0 with a EVM6201 PCI board under XP. I used the same driver
as for NT4.0/Win2K. I originally had it working under NT4.0 and installed Win2k instead. It did not work, tried all sorts of things and a new driver was one thing I thought of. However there only seems to exist a single really old driver for the EVM board. As a desperate measure I installed XP instead of win2k and it worked just like that. For other reasons I decided to throw out XP and I finally got it working under Win2K. The trick was to set the BIOS to "non plug and play OS". This is against TIs instructions and does not make sense but it worked. My theory is that the driver or the PCI bridge chip is sensitive about how it is configured. Simply, this BIOS and Win2K does the PCI configuration process differently. The driver was probably developed when configuration was done by BIOS and depends on some quirk. Also the EVM board have troubles coexisting with other boards, especially 3com network cards and some graphics cards. /Regards, Pär Ligander Yashil1 wrote: > Hi, > > I'm looking for TMS320C6701 EVM PCI Borad's driver for Windows XP.
