Craig, Par, Please find below information regarding the Bug# SDSq19226 For those of you who could not get the C6x01 EVM drivers to install on Win 2000, we currently have a patch that can be installed over CCS 2.10. This patch can be downloaded from the url below. https://www-a.ti.com/downloads/sds_support/C6000-2.10.00-FULL-to-C6000-2.10. 10-FULL.htm 1. Direct your browser to the above url and click on where it says click "here" to download the self-extracting executable. 2. Double click on the downloaded .exe file. 3. If you get a windows dialog box indicating "A read only file is detected" Click Yes to overwrite it. 4. Restart the PC (Important Step, eventhough may not be prompted to restart) 5. Upon Restart some PCs, may present you with a dialog box looking for the evm6x.inf file. Please browse to the c:\winnt\inf folder and select the evm6x.inf file and click OK. Also, please note that you need to be a registered user, to download patches from Update Advisor and also need to have a valid subsription Windows XP we haven't tested, but should be the same driver, as Windows XP is the same kernel as Win 2K... This is against TIs instructions and does not >make sense but it worked. Yes, Ti actually mention this under bug# SDSsq19226 6201/6701 EVMs via PCI will not work on some PCs running windows 2000 (v2.00) http://www.ti.com/sc/docs/dsps/hotline/techbits/c6bug.htm#SDSsq19226 But I think it also has a lot to do with your hardware as I have tried endlessly to get it working on a machine at work. We have turned plug'n'play off, and reinstalled the drivers with no luck. >My theory is that the driver or the PCI bridge chip is sensitive about >how it is configured. Simply, this BIOS and Win2K does the PCI >configuration process differently. The driver was probably developed >when configuration was done by BIOS and depends on some quirk.
