Can't check the "Open DMA Channel" option in DSP/BIOS config - yaoxuchen - Jul 1 12:36:53 2007

Hi, I use a C6713 DSPor and CCS 2.21. When using DSP/BIOS config, I found
I
can't set up DMA channel.

If I right click "DMA_channel0" in "DMA Resource Manager",
and choose
"Properties", the "Open DMA Channel" checkbox is gray. If I
insert a new
dmaCfg in "DMA Configuration Manager", all options (except the
"add
comments" option) of the newly added dmaCfg are gray. Could somebody tell
me
why? Thank you.

Got the answer, C6713 has no DMA. What a mistake;-)

open the settings of CCS 2.0, and check if you really selected the C6713.
You must have set another processor, that has no DMA.
Check also that you use the XDS560 driver.

Regards

C6x device with no DSP? TI couldn't sell too many of those!

Go to this page:

  http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/tms320c6713.html

and look for:

  o Enhanced Direct-Memory-Access (EDMA) Controller
   (16 Independent Channels)

RE: Can't check the "Open DMA Channel" option in DSP/BIOS config - yaoxuchen - Jul 2 11:01:16 2007

Oh, Sorry. I mean C6713 has no DMA devices but EDMA devices. So I can
check
the "Open EDMA Channel" option but can't check the "Open DMA
Channel"
option.

Thank you for your link!
