want to use Code composer studio'C6713 (v 2.21.00) for programming TMS320F2812 - yajurve_444 - Jan 22 9:50:22 2010

hello,
My name is Girish Yajurvedi, I am a graduate student in Louisiana State
University. I am working on Induction Motor control using TMS320f2812 dsp. My
query is regarding the CCS software. My Lab has Code composer studio'C6713
(version 2.21.00-TMS320C6713 DSK specific Code Composer Studio from Texas
Instruments) obtained along with DSP Starter Kit (DSK) for the TMS320C6713 by
spectrum digital. I want to know if I can use this software for programming
TMS320F2812 (by installing some drivers), or I will have to buy a complete new
software? If same CCS can be used, from where I can buy the drivers?

Girish,

Unfortunately, there is no way to use the 6713 DSK version of CCS with the 2812.

Which 2812 board are you using? If you're using something like this, then there
should be a free version of CCS that you can get to use that board. In general,
if you are using a Spectrum Digital DSK, there is a free version of CCS tools
that you can get to use with it. Once you develop your own custom board, then
you'll need to buy a version of CCS. But if this is a standard EzDSP DSK, then
you should have gotten a free version of CCS with it.

If you do need to purchase CCS, beginning with CCS3, support for all devices
come with a single install of CCS. So you'd be able to use that version with
custom boards of all flavors.

Regards,
Dan
