More Visual Linker Bugs - Author Unknown - Mar 20 14:20:00 2001

Hi

I used the new "fantastic" Visual Linker to link my project files,
but my program did not work properly. I tried to use the Legacy
Linker instead and now it looks like the program is working. As far
as I can see the Visual Linker does not include all sections from the
object files, the .switch and the .sysmem sections are not inluded.
The Legacy Linker includes these sections even if I do not include
them in my linker command file.
So, my advise is to AVOID the Visual Linker.

Best regards
Torgeir Jakobsen

AW: More Visual Linker Bugs - T.Hupp - Mar 21 7:58:00 2001

Hi,

I have made the same experience with this tool. There are some things which
are really cool (for example the intuitive assignment of symbols to the end
of a section, ...) and I have made two attempts in the last 2 month to get
my project running with the visual linker - but I also stayed at the Legacy
Linker. Lets see which bugs come with the next release ...

Best regards
