migrating problems from 2.1 to 3.1!! - arash_p60 - May 4 9:00:38 2006

Hello everyone,=20

Im an undergraduate student and recently I have become involved in a
TI DSP project. We have a problem with upgrading our CCS. The same
code which was written in v2.1 and works correctly in old version
doesn't work in v3.1. It seems that there are some differences in the
location of folders since I had to change the location of one library
file which was included in build options (while that might not have
anything to do with our problem)!=20

what happens is I can compile and download the code into the chip but
it doesn't work after that!! Can anyone help me with this problem??
Please consider that I'm very new to the DSP world!

Our lab will greatly appreciate your help.=20

Thanks.=20

RE: migrating problems from 2.1 to 3.1!! - "Truex, Don A" - May 4 10:06:59 2006

I hate to admit it but I had the same problem when I updated to 3.1. I
looked at the obvious build options and could not find any differences.
I did notice that the code was a different size from code built in 2.2.
At the time the product I was working on was going into full production
and I didn't have time to figure it out so I gave up on the upgrade. No
one else had reported this problem so I assumed there was something in
my setup.

If you still have the old version installed a quick work around is to
direct 3.1 to use the old build tools. Click on help/about/component
manager. When you expand the build tools it should show either version.
I was able to build bit compatible image in 3.1 using the 2.2 compiler.
Not a solution but it will get you going until you can figure out what
the problem is.
