AEC Testing speech samples - sunvict - Dec 1 15:45:00 2003

Hi,
I need some speech samples to test my AEC algorithm. Can any one
send me some sample files. Which is the best algorithm we can use
for handsfree echo cancellation.I am considering a single channel.

I have been trying to make my own vectors using headphones, mic and
my PC. The echo from speakers to mic gets recorded quite nicely.
However, the recorded sound contains a crackle. Would anyone know the
source of this crackle? Bad phones or mic, bad connections, problem
with motherboard?

HI,
The crackling noise is due to combination of
mic, speaker and ambient noise(fan noise, man made noise etc).
You need a quality microphone and speaker set to record
good test vectors.
Try to record using any DSK or EVM(for example TI or Motorola)
So that you can avoid hard disk's fan noise.

You can download some model test vectors from spiritcorp by doing
simple registration. (http://www.spiritcorp.com/acoustic_echo.html)
