Dear Readers, I have a VHS recording of the wedding of my cousin that I have converted to DVD mpg and AVI clips containing speech and music. I have separated the Video and Wav component, and these are resident on my hard drive. Although the wedding was recorded professionally, the echo on the wav files makes them extremely difficult to understand. As a result, the tape has been written off as a waste. The wedding was on the east cost, when I learned about it here in California I asked for and received a copy to see if I might help. I have a background in signal analysis in spread spectrum, substantial work in digital filtering, Fourier analysis, signal class recognition and limited experience in adaptive filtering. Most of my software was written in textual and visual basic. I've been retired since 1990, so getting up to speed again is a steep learning curve. I have hoped to find a software solution and have hope that some member(s) might help. I have "Wave Repair" and Adobe's "Audition", these do not address echo elimination. It has occurred that these files could be of some help to someone wishing for real world examples to work with, in which case I will transmit them. Otherwise, please if you would be so kind, suggest a plausible direction for me, since I am stuck. Many Thanks Don Nasoni |

Dear Don Nasoni, You could use any of these audio tools: 1) GoldWave (www.goldwave.com) 2) CoolEdit2000 (http://www.sonicspot.com/cooledit/cooledit.html) I had used Goldwave and got good results.
