Error Concealment | JPEG | MPEG-4 | Wavelet | YUV

Hi all,
I have a camera and lighting setup.i take a image of a homogeneous gray surface and plotted the
intensity distribution plot of that image.Then i capture a textured surface with the same setup
and i plotted the intensity plot of that image.The intensity plot was different bcos of the
texture details.
what kind of filter can i use to remove the texture details and get the same light intensity
distribution which i got in homogeneous image?
pls shower some valuable suggestions.Thanks in advance.
