Can any body help me about OFDM based thesis - Alam - Sep 5 13:25:39 2008

Dear

I am studding in final year in electronics engineering, i have been making research
and preparing thesis regarding with OFDM. To
understand OFDM more and more, I want to simulate it with Matlab. If it
is possible, could you supply me a matlab code or codes which are able
to simulate OFDM or could you supply me any tutorial material that
should be essential regarding my thesis

In my opinion you should first draw up a plan to simulate a very basic ofdm system. Just
take an AWGN channel and simulate Tx/Rx of a small 128 length OFDM symbol in baseband. Once you
have a good working code then try to inject a carrier signal and try with other complex
channels. If you dive straight in already existing code you will get really confused. Also
understanding the concept of orthogonal subcarriers is of paramount importance; make sure you
completely understand the role of FFT in OFDM. There is a paper by S.B.Weinstein and P.M.Ebert:
``Data Transmission by Frequency-Division Multiplexing Using the Discrete Fourier Transform. Go
through this paper to understand the concept; then you can easily work up a working Matlab
code. Here is a link http://www.s3.kth.se/signal/grad/OFDM/URSIOFDM9808.htm if you need a quick
understanding of OFDM.

Hope that helps.

This is the best OFDM source that I have used so far.
Good luck

plot OFDM spectrum - anne naa - Sep 8 9:08:59 2008

hi,
I would like to know how to plot OFDM spectrum. Correct me if I'm wrong. after we have a
modulation signal, we do FFT for real signal. I understand the theory but don't understand to
implement it in matlab. let say if I have 72 symbols with 165 point (after 128 FFT+37 GI). I
want to plot the symbol at different frequency carrier. for example symbol 1, at frequency
1Ghz,symbol 2 at freq 10Ghz and so on. this is  the concept of MB-OFDM.I found certain matlab
code in the internet but I don't understand how to put the carrier frequency because they used
normalized frequency. Could someone help me, please..
TQ in advanced.
