Dear Friends,
I have a series of frequency domain plots obtained by FFT.
The spectra have a series of features (peaks, and in some cases peaks and
troughs) against a smooth decaying background that decays with increasing
frequency. However, in some cases, the maximum value of this background is far
higher at low frequenies than the maximum value of the features.

I am looking for an efficient algorithm/code for extracting these features
against the smooth background - specifically their frequency value.
