How to direct Matlab startup error messages to a file or the printer? - Laila Bahgat - Feb 3 12:11:00 2002

I'll very much appreciate any help regarding the following problem:
As a result of some conflict I no longer can run Matlab R12 from within
the Windows2000 OS.
Matlab opens and closes instantaneously without my interference with a
lot of error messages that appear and disappear
within a few seconds.
I would like to direct this output to a file or to the printer so that I

can know what is causing these errors and fix it.

After opening the properties property box of Matlab I tried changing the

target to:
"Matlabr12 root\bin\win32\matlab.exe > error.txt" but this didn't work
and no file with the name error.txt was even
created.

I am using Matlab version 6.0.0.88 R12 on a Pentium III 550 MHertz Intel

processor.
I am using a Windows 2000/ Win98 dual boot system, I had no conflicts
before and currently Matlab can be run only from within the Win98 system

(although it is originally installed on the Windows2000 OS).
The conflict started during using a *.dll to connect Java with Matlab,
the target was to use this project as an interface and to take advantage

of Matlab's capabilities to do the necessary computations related to the

solution of a non-linear ordinary differential equations. Output was a
matrix of about 10000*7 elements and thus couldn't be displayed in the
workspace.
Is there any other method that can be applied to direct these error
messages to a text file?

Thanks.
