I wish to know if timers are implimented internally on chips that dont have I/O pins for the timer unit itself. For instance the 56F803 has pins for only one timer module, but shows documentation for 3 other timer modules in SFR area, does this imply that the hardware does exist, and that these timer modules can be used as software/interrupt timers for program usage? Yes you can use those timers for internal purposes. SDK will also support those timers (that are present, but don't have pinouts). BTW, DSP56F803 has four timers A, B, C, and D, where B and C don't have pinouts. Leonard N.
