recording in lower sampling rate than the sampling rate provided by the h/w using alsa API - arun kumar - Feb 8 13:26:09 2010

Hi all,

I am using Alsa API to record speech data. I want to record data at 16KHz
sampling rate, and I am able to do it in one computer. In another computer,
however, even though I set the h/w parameters for 16KHz, it records in
44100Hz. I think the h/w doesn't support anyother sampling rate. I am
specifying the device as "hw:0,0". I believe, using a configuration
file or
plugins, I can add additional functionality through which I can record using
a desired sampling rate. A procedure or any information on this would be
really helpful. Thank you.

Arun Kumar
