Hi yahoos,
I am now using ansi c source for 1/2 rate
gsm for a software driven voice applicaton .

is it neccesary to use DTX, VAD in the minimum
implementation .I ask this because the speech output I
get is disturbed by clicking sounds and breaksand
noise
especially when the loudness of sound increases.

I am confused how to initialize this codec proprly.
Hope any one who have worked in gsm will help . Bye
