General queries in G.723.1 - Sameer Kibey - Jun 14 7:54:00 2002

Hello everyone!

Here are a few queries wrt G.723.1:

1.The G.723.1 recommendation specifies a total
algoritmic delay of 37.5 ms.Out of this 30 ms
is due to the frame size. The remaining 7.5 ms is due
to "look ahead delay".What is meant by look ahead
delay?

2.In pitch estimation, the limits for open loop pitch
lag are from 18 to 142. Now, the analysis frame size
is 120 samples (2 subframes) which is less than the
max possible lag. How are pitch periods greater than
120 detected?

3.What is meant by long term DC component/vector wrt
LSP? (The first step in LSP VQ in the standard is
obtaining DC removed LSP vector).

Thank you!
Sameer Kibey.
