Technical discussions related to Speech Coding (all itu and other vocoders, ACELP, CELP, AMR, etc)

Hi all, I am currently using full rate GSM codec for our audio conferencing solution. As far as the audio quality is concerned it is degraded a little bit due to some code optimisations. So i would like to verify the bit exactness of the codec using the test vectors provided by the ETSI, which i have downloaded from their site. The*.inp file contains 584 frames of 160 2 byte data which should be given as input to the encoder. Actually the encoder compresses the 160 13 bit samples to 260 bits , which when rounded will give 33 bytes. But the test vector output specified in the ETSI doc says number of input frame *76 * 2 as output. Could any body please clarify what this really means. Thanks in advance, With best regs Rajith |
