Conversion of Frame Energy to "dBov" - Lingadevaru - Dec 17 3:38:00 2004

Hi All,
Any one worked on G711-Appendix2...? please help.
My Qs is how to convert the frame energy into "dBov"?

In G711 appendix2:
The Comfort noise payload definition says, The first byte of the
payload must contain the noise level. The noise level is expressed in –
dBov, with values from 0 to 127 representing 0 to –127 dBov.

Also the specification describes that the running average of the
frame energy(LE) is computed for every frame. Where LE is the base-2
logarithm of the frame energy.

Could you please explain the procedure how to convert this frame
Energy to "dBov".

thanks
-Lingadevaru
