Hi,
  trying to generate a speech like signal using matlab by passing an impulse train through 3
bandpass filters in series. They have centre frequencies in the range 500Hz to 2kHz. I'm using
wavwrite to generate an audio file and all I'm getting is a 'buzz' sound. Nothing like what I
expected! Can anyone shed any light on this?

It appears to be working OK now, except there is no audible signal after the third stage of
filtration. The gain of each of my stages is .0557. Could that be the problem?? How do I
increase the gain?
