General Summary:
Sonos is using software to redefine what people expect from their home audio system. Far beyond traditional “DSP”, code developed by the Audio group within Sonos’s software team powers multi-zone synchronization over a wireless network, streaming from a huge variety of digital music services, and cutting edge audio enhancement effects that allow us to get great sound from small speakers.
As Software Engineer on the Audio team, you will be responsible for developing and enhancing all of the software that makes Sonos products sound great. You will
• use your knowledge of the design and implementation of digital filters and audio enhancement algorithms to tune and perfect the sound output from Sonos’s integrated speaker products, like the bestselling ZonePlayer S5.
• work closely with the hardware group’s acoustics team to design audio crossover algorithms and room equalization algorithms matched to the hardware design, then implement them in C/C++.
• develop device drivers for new audio hardware; participate in hardware bringup and debug.
• integrate new audio codecs and new streaming protocols.
• enhance Sonos’s audio synchronization algorithms to improve the scalability and accuracy of our multiroom synchronized audio solution.
If you love music, solving challenging software problems and doing things the right way every time, we’d like to talk to you!
