Todd- Are you and John former Blue Wave? John's name sounds familiar, like Mizar or DNA Enterprises or LSI or something. Thanks for pointing out the recent 563xx new introductions. It looks like the 56321T compares well with something like C5416; similar speed and onchip SRAM. I note the high status of the "position independent code" feature :-) What is the physical size of the FC-PBGA-196 package? It will be interesting to find out about Mot's plans for multicore devices, and catch up on differences in power consumption, MIPS/mm density, and offchip SRAM and I/O support features between 5632x and C54/55xx devices. As an aside, on a basic engineering level I'm happy to hear that, *finally*, at least there is something new. On a business level, it seems like too little too late. Why can't Motorola at least figure out how to make more noise about new DSPs? Does Mot CEO-level management *still* think the largest DSP customer is internal usage, so therefore no point in working with non-Mot telecom, speech, acoustic, and other general-purpose customers? Todd, what are the plans for the 56300 audio DSPs, especially the DSP56362 and 56364. They have been released some years before and I fear that they could be discontinued soon.... Unfortunately, I work for Motorola Computer Group, not the silicon group so I do not know what the plans are for the 56K family.
