John,
Your post tells me everything else I wanted to know.
Thanks,
Dirk

X-Midas is not hard to learn on-the-fly. I use it every other
day whether I need to or not ;-)
Send an email, preferably a *signed* email, to my hotmail
address (it's good). We can then try to set up alternate comm
channels, and if you have the appropriate network connections
and/or phone equipment, I will be able to discuss X-Midas
programming with you in some detail. (No, I am *not* looking
for a job ;-)
Note: X-Midas is GOTS software. There are several
distributions and variations "in the wild." Some are
unclassified. I think that even the unclassified distros
require you to have a DoD sponsor and sign agreements that you
will not re-distribute the software to unauthorized people.

Darol,
Thanks for the info.

Hi Dirk,
If you're asking about X-Midas, I suspect that you work in the defense
industry. X-Midas is touted as a portable, software DSP toolkit,
though in practice its applications are developed using ICE Pic and
Texas Memory Systems hardware and, I've been told, requires a
substantial cost to port to other hardware platforms. You can find
some X-Midas documentation at http://ice-online.com/.
Be wary. As with many government-sponsored products, X-Midas may not
be the most efficient solution for your needs.

Hi,
I am looking for a good description, book, or training source (only
found an $8000 course so far) on X-MIDAS.
I am finding amazingly little that contains much more than the word
(usually a job posting) on Yahoo, Google, and Ask.
Can anyone point me to a good resource?
Thanks,
Dirk
