better-than-real-time Nellymoser decoder FLV->PCM? - James Salsman - 22:45 12-03-05

I note with bemused disgust that Macromedia has decided to refrain
from allowing people who use their software to save recorded audio
in a portable format.

Does anyone have a method to convert Nellymoser audio to pulse code
modulation in better than real time?

They have attempted to make it hard, but it's easy to do it in real
time, and it is easy to prove that it always will be easy in real
time (plug the audio output into a full-duplex (or separate) sound
card's line in, to record.)

In their unsuccessful attempt to provide copy protection, they have
only made their product harder to use. Please speak out against
such foolishness here:

Java, last I read, required some sort of a security certificate to
activate the microphone in an application.

Which is the most economical audio upload applet these days?

Cheers,
James

Someone needs to tell Macromedia's lawyers that ignoring the
"analog hole" has never worked as a suitable counter to the
"ineffective protection" defense under the DMCA, please.

At least as far as I know. Are there counterexamples?
