Hi, Where can I get a copy of the Mitel, Bellcore or other test tapes? Are there any public-domain DTMF test suites available? Thanks, Scott______________________________

There are no other widely accepted test tapes/disks available. If you have an old unusable Bellcore set, I might be able to let you have pristine transciptions into wave files. The material is unavailable, but it is still copyright. If you don't already have a copy I can't help. The DTMF decoder in spandsp at www.soft-switch.org comes with a test suite that mirrors the tests on the Mitel test tapes (except for the talk-off tests, where I use my transcriptions of the Bellcore tapes). That's an odd situation--desirable materials which are commercially unavailable but still copyrighted. It's as if they want you to obtain them illegally since it is impossible to obtain them in a legal manner! -- Jon Harris SPAM blocker in place: Remove 99 (but leave 7) to reply______________________________

However, unless the copyright has expired it is still illegal to make copies outside the fair use provisions some countries have established. One could argue that copying these tapes, that are no longer available from the copyright holder, is fair use, but that is not a call I intend to make. Regards, Steve______________________________
Is there anyone out there who's willing to sell me their copy of the Bellcore tapes?
