hi friends

can any one suggest me a good material to understand and implement
"Vector Quantization"..
waiting for u r suggestion....
thanx in advance
ramu

Hi Ramu,

if you need a short introduction you could have a look at
http://www.data-compression.com/vq.html

If you need lots of info there is a very good book about VQ
A. Gersho and R. M. Gray, "Vector Quantization and Signal Compression",
Kluwer

THE reference for implementation is probably
Y. Linde, A. Buzo, and R. M. Gray, ``An Algorithm for Vector Quantizer
Design,'' IEEE Transactions on Communications, pp. 702--710, January 1980.
which you probably can google out somewhere on the net.

Have fun,

adamcool

You can refer to Digital Coding of Waveforms by Jayant and Noll.
