hi folks for our current project we have an Analog 2187N running in full memory mode. we must use DM overlays 0, 4 and 5 and also PM overlays 0, 4 and 5. The program is a C/assembler mix developped with VisualDSP 3.5. Switching the DM overlays works, also does the PM overlay switch, but only when using the simulator. When we use the emulator (218x EZICE) the programs stops at the first...

I am new to the ADSP-TS201S TigerSHARC and I was seeking some advice and possibly sample code on how to set up the link ports, specifically the control registers. They appear to be different from the TS101 TigerSHARC in that there are two control registers, one for transmit and one for receive.

Hi, I'm confident that some people here could give me some advice on this topic. I'm trying to program an EEPROM AT28C010E-12PC for a demonstration program that I should run on this platform. The EEPROM programming procedure is not the problem, I do that and the verification program says it's OK. I even wrote my own utility to read back the EEPROM trough a microcontroller via UART, and a...

Hi everyone, I'm using a VisualDSP++ 3.5 to develop some software for an ADSP-2187L. Before starting to develop any software I need a way to load it into my target without the use of an EZ-Ice and I have to go through a spacewire-like protocol in order to program the FLASH. My system has already a "built-in" software which will allow me to write and erase the flash memory without any p...

I've seen posts concerning using the TDM multichannel mode on the 20165L as interprocessor communications and I am attempting to do that. However, I only have one board, so I'm attempting to simulate two boards by tying the Tx back to the Rx and the TxClk to the RxClk. I think I should be able to start a transmit DMA with specific slots enabled and receiver back what I transmit, as long as ...

Hi. I want to use a very large FFT (65536 samples) on a Sharc 21065L. But I encountered a problem with the ADI FFT (rfft65536) with my DSP: the twiddle-factors need to be in the PM, but that is far too much data for the internal memory of the 21065. I tried the FFT from "Numerical Recipies in C", but the results are not really correct, there are errors for low frequencies. Now I'm looking for...

Hi people. I am trying to implement an eco canceling system using a DSP (ADSP - 21160M) and a LMS adaptive algorithm, but unfortunity it runs just at max with 6 taps, beyond this value neither the sound unprocessed nor the processed one can be heard. I think this is a problem releted with processing rate of the the DSP, but I would Like to know if any body here had a similar problem or have any...

Hello, Maybe my question is too dumb, but I can't find an explanation after a whole day working over and over on SHARCs. I think I need some rest! For algorithm validation I've created a .dat file which holds my input data. It's written in floating point format (single precision). I configured the SPORT0 on my ADSP-2165L Simulation session on VisualDSP++ (3.5 for 32 bit processors). I al...

Hi. I've a problem with Interrupt Service Routines and Analog Devices DSP 21364. I've written an ISR that moves a sample from an input stream into a circular buffer, and it's triggered at a fixed rate. When I execute some code (while ISR is filling a buffer) like this (it's a Finite Impulse Response Filter part): lcntr = r2, do (pc,loopend_fir-1) until lce; f8...

I'm having a hard time trying to find documentation on how to use SHARC's JTAG port for debugging. I'm evaluating the ADSP-21363. Do I have access do all internal memory. What are the commands to do it? How so set a break point? Can I check for memory invasion? What's the tranfer rate (for reading/writing the internal memory)? I don't want to use an ADI emulation pod.
