Hi, The topic indicates my question, I want to develop a H.320 terminal which receives audio/video which the terminal processes using G.722/H.261 codecs. My question is, which of the offered DSPs in the market can include both of them taking into account the price. At this momento I have to candidates DaVinci of TI and BlackFin of ADI, what else? Thanx

I am working on a project to demodulate SSB signals using software defined radio on a blackfin DSP. We are required to design and build a lower sideband SSB communications-quality speech receiver which will tune the band 7.040MHz?7.100MHz. We are using a softrock 40 board which multiplies the signals by a sin and cosine wave at 7.055MHz to generate the I and Q branches. I was just wondering if any...

Hi guys, Any recommandation for a DSP well suited for an "IP-connected intelligent cameras" project, with the following key characteristics : - On-chip video in port - Quite high horsepower (in the 1000Mips range) - Able to drive a quite large external Ram (32Mo) - Ethernet 100BT interface I have already Blackfin and TI's TMS320DM64x in mind, but any advice or alternative choice will be ...

Hi everyone, I'm new to this group. I'm doing an undergradued internship involving DSP. Never worked with DSP before. I hope my questions (nor my poor level of english) will upset anyone. I have a ADI blackfin 533 EZKit. In order to accomplish my assignment I need to know the content of the Boundary Scan register used by the JTAG emulator. Here's my question: Does anyone know where c...

Is there fixed-point math library (preferably as inline functions or macros) such as the one defined by European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) and used in in GSM 06.06 and other standard vocoders - available for: 1. ADI's BlackFin? 2. IBM PowerPC? 3. Intel Pentium? 4. TI DSP? If so, please provide me with the link for download etc. Thanks, GM

Hi VDSP-Experts, I am trying to use the "compression" feature of the loader on the BF533 with VDSP5.0 update 4. I have ticked "enable compression" in project options and selected a zlib init file in load/options. The only thing I modified from the default one (ADSP-BF533_zlib_init_SDRAM.dxe) is the SDRAM bank control register, which I set to my configuration (0x11, using 16MByte). I...

Hi, I'm pretty new to DSP and I'm trying to implements simple bass/treble control using RBJ audio filter cookbook. Even if I understand nothing to the math behind the coef calculation. I did a simple implementation in C using 32 bit float, it's working great ! What I want to do is to use blackfin fract16 type to do a fixed point implementation of those filters (I got a BF537 based board). ...

I've been coding up a working MATLAB simulation on a Blackfin 533 using the 32 bit fractional data type (fract32). I have used FIR filters to implement convolution to get outputs from different filter stages. I'm using look up tables created from MATLAB to simulate the algorithm internally on the processor. The LUTs consist of secondary path filtered white noise and a 30Hz sine wave also filtered...

Hello, Suppose you have a surveillance project on which two 4-CIF NTSC streams (704 x 480) @ 15 fps have to be encoded for network streaming and for storage, and that the network bandwidth is up to 2 Mbps. Also, the encoder has to run on an embedded platform (Blackfin, for example). Which of the following codecs would you use: - H.264 Basic Profile - MPEG-4 Simple Profile - MPEG-4...

I am trying to communicate with the Analog Devices FPGA EZ-Extender Board over the BF561 Ez-KIT EBIU. Basically, I have BlockRAM in the Spartan FPGA whose contents I am trying to read over the EBIU but am having trouble doing so in the VisualDSP4.5 environment. Hey all... Can a DM642 (or a DM643) can handle lossy JPEG compression at 1024 x 768, YUV 8 bit 4:2:2, at 30 fps ? Surely can do D1. But SVGA ? If yes, will it do even at 500 Mhz ? For example, a Blackfin most probably can't handle that, even the dual core (from comments from some users). I know that the data flow itself its a tough job, but I need to start somewhere... ...

Hello DSPers, After reading the thread about "Why cplex filters" a question comes to mind: how to generate complex filter coefficients if i do not wish to apply desired phase and amplitude correction to the original signal? Hi, Does anyone have a schematic showing the hookup to a byteblaster or wiggler compatible JTAG adapter to the BF533? I am not sure what pullups or pulldowns to use on the individual JTAG signals.
